Bowl-o-thon!

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

Creative Clay hosted a bowling fundraiser on Sunday, July 15, at Sunrise Lanes. What a great day of fun, fellowship and terrific bowling! Member artists, staff and volunteers bowled three competitive games–showing expert bowling skills with frequent strikes and spares. “I knew the competition would be exciting when many member artists arrived with their personal bowling balls and other gear. They put on a great show! Like they do in the studio when painting, these member artists put 150% in everything they do.” said Betsy Pearson, Development Coordinator. Robert B. and Chris F. earned prizes for the highest combined game scores over 300. Due to the efforts of everyone involved, Creative Clay collected $1,660.00 in donations that will directly fund art education programs for persons with disabilities.

JJ H. is working on a GIANT sealife drawing using black sharpie marker. Working in his own unique style, JJ adds fish, coral, and sharks to his seascape. When asked if he planned on adding color, he smirked and said, “I don’t know about that!”

“It’s cool!” Exclaims Robert B. as he adds finishing touches to his painting. His work of the day features characters familiar to Robert: Dexter, DeeDee, Belle, and Alice. “They’re at the airport…Are they flying?” asks Robert as he adds a few more familiar faces: those of staff and volunteers.
