St. Petersburg, FL (November 5, 2009) Creative Clay, making the arts accessible to all in the community, announces ARTLINK 2009, two unique art presentations featuring exhibits and performances by ten Creative Clay ARTLINK teams.

“We are very excited about this project,” said Grace-Anne Alfiero, Creative Clay Executive Director.  “Our teams of professional and member artists have spent an entire year working and creating together, and they are ready to showcase the results of their efforts. This is a wonderful opportunity for the world to see the amazing talent within our community, as well as the great work we do here at Creative Clay.”

The ARTLINK 2009 American team members are as follows: Alicia Loomis & Lawrence J., Jill Oldenski & Carolyn R., Betsy Orbe Lester & Chris C., Jack Breit & Chris F., Nery Arevalo & Artemisa M., Annie Cerillo & Toni G., DeLaran Withers & Robin L., Nicole Gugliotti & Mary Anne B., Vanessa Diana & David S., Janet Folsom & Sarah S.

The ARTLINK presentations will include both visual art exhibitions and performance art pieces, and represent a year’s worth of artistic mentorship and collaboration. Creative Clay was founded with the belief that every individual has a valuable perspective to offer and the arts provide a language that connects us all. Our ARTLINK teams produce sophisticated works of art, and creative group projects, that extend out into the larger community, generating rich life experiences and personal growth for everyone involved.

ARTLINK was conceived by Grace-Anne Alfiero, with the first project in 1999.  Creative Clay continues to implement the program annually and it has grown to include an international presence. In 2003 and 2007, Creative Clay staff and artists traveled to Japan to assist in the implementation of the ARTLINK project in over 25 Agencies. Our Japanese collaborators will be joining us during the ARTLINK 2009 reception as we reflect on the year past and plan future international projects.

ARTLINK  2009 was funded in part through grants from the Able Trust, The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, and the Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department.  Bank of America is a major sponsor of this event.  Creative Clay is located at 1124 Central Ave, St. Petersburg.
