Stuart Hyatt to Appear at Good Folk Fest in Celebration of Shrimp Attack!

Shrimp Attack, the beloved but long lost orchestral pop album, reissued on vinyl for a special 20th anniversary release.

Original packaging from the CD release of Shrimp Attack! in 2005.

The album was originally recorded in 2005 with the member artists of Creative Clay, the renown St. Petersburg arts center whose mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives. Chamber folk? Anthemic punk musical theatre? Yes. Shrimp Attack was all of this and more, but scant copies remain, leaving the album a mysterious cult classic known by only the most devoted collectors. Until now.

To coincide with Creative Clay’s 30th Anniversary celebration, Stuart Hyatt, the album’s composer and producer, has remixed and remastered the original recordings for this new limited edition release. Pressed to oceanic transparent vinyl with brand new cover illustrations by Andrew McGranahan, Shrimp Attack comes roaring back in all its earnest sonic glory.

Hyatt will be joined by some of the album’s original contributors to present the project, with Shrimp Attack albums, posters, and other merchandise for sale.

Member Artists featured include Gina Kenney, Chris Fontaine, Chris Coyle, and Kevin H. Former member artists include Kim Spivey, Michael R., and Thor Burgess.

Gina Kenney was one of the writers and performers on the Shrimp Attack! CD released in 2005 produced by Stuart Hyatt.
