Frain shared the inspiration behind Equality Through Art. “When you make your way through Creative Clay, you see many different artists and styles that are creating together in the same space. I wanted to complement some of the students' art to show their characters and styles on one wall. Now, when they walk in they can see it and know that even though they're all different, they're in this program together.”

The Big Art Show: Creative Clay exhibit at Lewis House
A longtime partnership between the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC) and Creative Clay continues with The Big Art Show, which opened August 31 at Lewis House at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.
The diverse collection of art by Creative Clay’s Member Artists ranges from Purple Moonlight by Marquise R. to other original folk-art pieces by long-time and former artists.

Lewis House is the gathering space for members of Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC). Creative Clay has partnered with ASPEC and Eckerd since 2010, but The Big Art Show is the first exhibit at Lewis House since the Covid-19 pandemic.
ASPEC was founded on the principle that it is important for adults to remain involved and active. Eckerd states: “Its 300+ members, whether in transition from one career to another or “retired,” are most engaged when they participate in lifelong learning and share a community of interests with others who believe that every stage of life can be a time of rejuvenation, enrichment, accomplishment and meaningful productivity.”
In addition to Marquise R., the Creative Clay artists featured in The Big Art Show include Shasta G., Lindsay J., Grace P., Ashton T., Ali V., Aaron F. Artwork by former Creative Clay Member Artists Christopher J., Brittany M., and Eric Bristow, is also featured. Learn more about Creative Clay’s Member Artists by visiting www.creativeclay.org.
