Great art, delicious food, and outstanding music!
We're excited to announce that this Friday's Art Market will feature a special guest, Mayor Hideto Onishi of Takamatsu, Japan. St. Petersburg and Takamatsu have enjoyed a Sister City partnership for 62 years.
Creative Clay's relationship with Heart ArtLink Takamatsu began in 2001, and the first collaborative exhibit between the two organizations was in 2003. Our Member Artists and the artists of Heart Artlink Takamatsu have enjoyed participating in art exchanges throughout the years, most recently in 2021 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Sister City partnership between St. Petersburg and Takamatsu.
Beginning soon, Creative Clay Member Artists and Heart Artlink artists will collaborate in the Artlink Takamatsu-St. Petersburg project and exchange art and correspondence with an international mail art project. An exciting endeavour, it's another opportunity to nurture this relationship. We are grateful that Mayor Onishi has included Creative Clay in his busy itinerary.
Creative Clay Transition student artists and member artists from the Community Arts program are proud to host Friday Art Market! Art Market features a variety of ceramics, paintings, greeting cards with a wide range of subject matter. Creative Clay’s artists are always creating hand-made greeting cards and we have the most charming, funny and endearing cards in town! Member artists are also available to do live portrait-drawing for a donation. 100% of portrait donations go directly to the artists. Come visit First Friday Art Market and support your local artists.
