By Gina Kenney
Gina loves her family, friends and flowers, and they inspire her art. “I paint and draw rainbow flowers, hibiscus, big flowers and nice, pretty blooming flowers. I love doing art, it’s unique, serious,” she said. Her paintings of people are often surrounded by backgrounds filled with floating flowers. In addition to painting, Gina’s favorite medium is film. She writes and acts in her own movies and “Girls Powers” is one of her favorites.
Her paintings and movies can be found in the Good Folk Gallery. Gina’s work was featured in the Spring 2017 exhibit, “Flower Power,” at the Community Café in St. Petersburg. Gina also participates in the Gallery Arts Program at Creative Clay, where she experiences the running of a gallery. In a statement about why she makes art, Gina said it best herself.
“I trust myself doing art, it’s my instincts in my heart and that feeling I have I believe that’s why I make art. I want to do more art because it’s inside of me.”
