Former Creative Clay member artist Artemisa Mendoza (d. March 5, 2022) was a multidisciplinary artist, and acted in Creative Clay-produced short films. Intensity was the underlying theme of Artie's work. Well known around the studio for her marker affinity, Artie worked in all drawing mediums. Her work hovered between abstraction and realism, but was rich with colors and patterns. In addition to her talents in the visual arts, Artie was also a phenomenal singer and dancer who never ceased to entertain her peers in the studio. Artie's work was exhibited September 2021 in Mi Gente Movida, part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in the Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg. In 2010, Artie teamed up with local fashion designer Ivanka Ska for the Artlink mentorship program. Their six-month partnership culminated in a fashion show of wearable art created by Artie and Ivanka. Throughout her years as a member artist, Artie's work was selected several times for Good Folk Gallery exhibits, as well as art shows throughout the Tampa Bay area.
